Damco UK Ltd. Awarded Full Authorised Economic Operator Status - "The award, which is effective from 19 April 2010, is the culmination of nine months preparation work..."

April 2010 - Damco UK Ltd. has been recognised by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and awarded full Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status in the areas of Customs Simplifications and Security and Safety.

The resulting approval from HMRC is an acknowledgement of the way Damco UK Ltd. conducts its business operations and meets the European standards forcustoms compliance and site security as laid down in the AEO.

By demonstrating good process discipline, the ability of putting processes into practice to enhance the principles of good customs compliance and security of the supply chain, Damco UK Ltd. has been recognised by HMRC to possess the necessary controls, procedures and good practice, to be able to offer its customers an enhanced service product. The AEO accreditation is an evidence to the market place of Damco’s strengths and ability to offer service to its customers.

Neil Bird, Customs House Brokerage Business Development Manager for Damco UK Ltd. says: "The award, which is effective from 19 April 2010, is the culmination of nine months preparation work and eight months of audit work by HMRC and Damco. During the audit period, auditors from HMRC’s Large Business Sector, spent 17 actual days on site at multiple Damco locations looking at all aspects of Damco operations, site security, processes, practices and policies."
